'Cutting carbon emissions in the NHS' - implementing the NHS carbon reduction strategy
Thursday 7 May 2009 Austin Court, Birmingham
The UK Government has just published, Saving Carbon, Improving Health - the NHS carbon reduction strategy which outlines the commitment of the NHS to cut carbon emissions; to meet and hopefully exceed the government’s targets to cut emissions by 80% by 2050 and plough back money saved into improved patient care and services. This is now a legal requirement and governance arrangements will need to demonstrate how it is being measured, monitored and managed.
An expert line up of speakers will examine the new guidance and actions that need to be taken, share current best practice initiatives and examine lessons that can also be learnt from other sectors.
Speakers include :
- Dr David Pencheon, NHS Sustainable Development Unit
- David Wathey, Sustainability Unit, NHS PASA
- Case Studies from BT, BAE, G4Tec
